NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT: ORLUS MINI-IMPLANT

Bristol, PA., March 28, 2007—Masel announces the release of the Orlus Mini-implant, a temporary orthodontic anchorage device that provides a fixed anchorage point for attachment of orthodontic appliances to help facilitate orthodontic movement of teeth.

The unique design minimizes the influence of operator skills and allows retraction of teeth, midline correction, protraction of the posterior teeth, molar uprighting, molar distalizing, intrusion of anterior and posterior teeth, and correction of occlusal canting.

The Orlus Mini-implant features a .022 slot dimension, a lateral cutting groove to prevent stress concentration during insertion, a reverse buttress thread for drill-free insertion, a hexagonal head to prevent epithelial creeping, a smooth button top for patient comfort, and a cork-screw like tip to minimize cortical bone trauma.

In addition, the top of the implant features a wider diameter to increase cortical bone support while the narrower diameter at the bottom of the implant prevents root injuries.

Masel offers mini-implants for hard and soft tissue conditions.  Available in 1.4mm, 1.6mm, and 1.8mm diameters and 1.6mm, 1.9mm, and 2.2mm lengths.  Each screw comes in its own pre-sterilized wrapping, two per pack. Screwdrivers and surgical drills are also available.

Masel is now offering an Orlus Mini-implant introductory starter kit that includes 6 mini-implants, one manual driver/handle for direct implantation, one manual hand drill for indirect implantation, a slow speed surgical drill and driver tip, and a fully autoclavable container.
